Add This To Your Playbook: A Review of the Nexus G-Play Medium
-
The Nexus G-Play Medium is a very versatile toy that has found itself residing in one of the few and coveted spots on my bedside windowsill. Not only does it make for a very pretty (and PURPLE) sill decoration, but it makes an inredible anal plug/vibe, and the vibrations are strong enough to be felt through the vaginal wall (much to my male-bodied partners’ pleasurable surprise). I can also use this as a clitoral stimulator, but it doesn’t live up to my g-spot expectations. That, along with the lack of variety in vibrations, leaves me wanting a little more with this toy. That doesn’t mean I don’t recommend it!
The quick and dirty details:
- 100% silicone
- 3 1/4″ insertable shaft
- Flared base
- 3 1/2″ at the widest point
- One vibration strength
The GPM is made of 100% silicone with a lovely silky finish. Un-lubricated it is still quite slick and provides a nice sensation when dragged over external parts of the body. The silicone takes quite well to water-based lubricants (such as the Sliquid Organics Gel, my current lube of choice) (as usual, DO NOT used silicone-based lubes with silicone toys), and LOTS should be used during anal play. The unique and well thought-out design of the Nexus G-play Medium (henceforth called the GPM) makes it an awesome toy with a huge variety of uses. Of course, as the name gives away, one of those uses is for g-spot stimulation, but I’ve found I use this toy primarily as a vibrating anal plug. The small tip and intense vibrations also make this a great clitoral or nipple stimulator, but its one speed is usually too strong for me unless I am quite warmed up.
The silicone has no smell or taste, and has the slightest bit of give. The silicone sleeve covers a hard plastic vibrator, so there is still a definite form and rigidity to the GPM. This may cause some people a little bit of discomfort when using it, but because of the relatively small size of the GPM, I’ve never had any problems past some initial, beginning-user anal discomfort that quickly subsides.
GPM has a very unique shape that I enjoy thoroughly. Its smaller, more bulbous head, followed by the thick oval shaft provides a pleasant “pop” and then “glide” sensation when being used anally. The flared base that insures it is safe for anal play. The beauty of this base, however, comes from its well thought-out shape. Instead of being round, as most anal toy bases are, it is elongated so that it sits comfortably between your cheeks!
The GPM has a brilliant design of enclosing a long, narrow vibrator inside a silicone sleeve. This means that the vibrations can be felt throughout the shaft of GPM as well as in the tip. Therefore I have found that using this on my clit can be incredible, although I have to warm myself up first. The single speed of GPM is fairly substantial, and a little buzzy. It’s a little too much to get started with, but once I’ve had a few small climaxes the intensity is perfect. Because of the silky surface of the toy, I have never felt numbed either. If the G-Play Medium isn’t *exactly* what you are looking for for one reason or another, you can easily check out both the G-Play Small (which EdenFantasys does not sell) and Large. The Small is, obviously, smaller, and thus better for those who might want to use the G-Play as a beginner’s anal toy, and the Large has a variety of vibrations and patterns as opposed to the Medium’s single speed.
The one area where GPM fell short for me was g-spot stimulation. I have a fairly deep g-spot and the Medium just can’t quite find it. Because of the shortness of the shaft it’s hard to gain any sort of control over the depth of this toy – it’s either in up to the base, or if you try to hold onto it like a handle you can only get the head in before your hand gets in the way. For someone with a shallower g-spot, however, this might be an incredible toy. While I was not able to orgasm using this vaginally, the vibrations were pleasurable and intense, and the shape of the toy was easy to feel.
This puppy is seriously the easiest to clean vibrator I’ve ever owned. The silicone sleeve easily slides off of the plastic vibrator and can be washed with soap and water, wiped down with a 10% bleach solution, or even boiled. Because the G-Play can be used vaginally or anally, you must be careful to sterilize it or use a condom before switching between the two, or between partners! Unfortunately, however, GPM is not waterproof, or even splash-proof as the battery compartment barely seals. So be sure to be careful when cleaning, and always take the vibrating shaft out of the silicone sleeve when sterilizing.
Ultimately if you are looking for a discrete, functional g- or p-spot stimulator, or even just straight-up anal plug, of a reasonable beginning to moderate size, I highly recommend Nexus G-Play Medium.
